About Us

Berrima Boarding Kennels were first opened in March 1985, by Trish Cox, who still runs them now.

Located on a 100 acre property just south of the historic village of Berrima, our kennels are truly a country retreat for our guests. Trish lives on the property and in her absence, Naomi – the manager – moves in. Our boarding accommodation is both spacious and airy and is kept spotlessly clean, providing your pet with a hygienic, comfortable, secure and happy environment.

We know that it is important for owners to have peace of mind when they go away and leave their pets, therefore we invite you to visit our facility and see first hand the services that provide the care and special attention your pet deserves.

Visit us during our normal office hours of 9-11am or 2-4pm, 6 days a week (Inspections will not be given during school or public holidays)

All animals entering the kennels must be fully vaccinated to our requirements and a signed vaccination certificate must be sighted. Please read our terms and conditions for further details regarding vaccinations.

A Bit About Our Staff

Trish Cox: has owned and operated the kennels since March 1985. Prior to taking on the kennels Trish studied for a Bachelor of Science Degree at Latrobe University; was PA to the Media Director of an Advertising Agency in Melbourne and was also involved in the Photographic Industry.

Since 1973 she has owned a variety of dogs and has been very involved in obedience training as well as breeding, showing and trialing German Shepherds. Trish has been an active member of the Southern Highlands Kennel and Obedience Club for over 20 years, holding the positions of Vice President, Instructor and Chief Instructor, in that time she has trained several of her own dogs and helped hundreds of people train their puppies and dogs.

Trish has a good working relationship with all the local Veterinarians and some Sydney Vets and will never hesitate to call in professional help if she feels it is needed.

Naomi Pedersen: joined Berrima Boarding Kennels in September 2000. In 1999 Naomi completed her Bachelor of Science Degree at Wollongong University; in 2000 she completed Certificate 2 in Animal Care. In 2002 Naomi became kennels manager, the position she still holds.

In 2005 Naomi completed a correspondence course in Animal Massage, this has been of benefit to some of our older, arthritic dogs. Over the last 23 years Naomi’s love of animals and dedication to her work has proved her to be a very valued member of staff and very popular with our regular visitors (both 2 and 4 legged !).

Mackenzie Chesterfield: joined Berrima Boarding Kennels in December 2021, right before Christmas, so she was kind of thrown in at the deep end and it was sink or swim. Well, swim she did and she hasn’t stopped. She has grown to be a trusted and valued member of the BBK family.

She has completed Certificate 2 in Animal Care through the Taronga Training Institute and comes from a rural background where her family has dogs, cats and chickens. She is a bright and bubbly person and brings a happy vibe to the kennels along with her colourful hair.
