Kennels

Our kennels are unlike many others in that we have two separate kennel complexes, one to house the smaller breeds and the other for larger dogs. We also do not charge any extra for “playtime”. Our dogs enjoy 4-5 hours of free running each and every day as part of their usual routine.

Large Dogs

Our large dog complex is designed to house dogs of medium size up to those extra large pooches. Each dog has its own fully insulated brick and concrete kennel which comprises of an inside sleeping area with immediate access to an outside enclosed run. This ensures the dog stays dry and warm in winter and cool in summer and yet can still see its surroundings while in its kennel. (Please read our terms and conditions regarding boarding during school holidays)

Each kennel can accommodate up to three dogs, depending on their size, so family groups or good friends can stay together in the one kennel.

All kennels are fitted with raised beds but we do ask that you provide your dogs with their own clean bedding to make them feel more at home. A favourite toy and coat in winter is also a good idea. We also have “snugglesafe” microwaveable heat pads available for purchase or hire for those wanting them during the colder months of the year.

Exercise areas

All the large dog runs look out onto the spacious grassed exercise areas in which they play during the day. Here at Berrima Boarding Kennels the dogs spend the majority of their day out in these exercise areas where they are free to run and play either on their own or in compatible groups, depending on their temperament.

Because we know the importance of exercise for most dogs, generally they have between four and five hours a day of free running. The only exception to this is when the weather is inclement and then they have several short runs morning and afternoon.

Should your dog be an escape artist or fence climber don’t worry, we have two areas that are completely netted over so they too can have a run and play.
(Please be sure to advise us of this at the time of booking)

Large dog rates vary from $50 to $60 (as at 01.02.24) per day depending on breed, temperament and whether they have been desexed. Our rates are fully inclusive of food, exercise and in most cases a bath before leaving.

All boarding fees are calculated on a calendar day basis regardless of time of admission or departure.

Small Dogs

Our small dog complex is designed for the more petite pooches. Similar to the large complex each dog has its own individual fully insulated brick and concrete kennel which comprises of an inside sleeping area with immediate access to an outside run. (Please read our terms and conditions regarding boarding during school holidays)

All kennels are fitted with raised beds but we do ask that you provide your dog with its own clean bedding to make it feel more at home. A favourite toy and coat in winter is also a good idea. The small dog kennels look out over the shaded exercise areas in which they play during the day. Again the dogs spend the majority of their time out in these exercise areas interacting and socialising with other small dogs.

Rates for small dogs are $45 or $50 (as at 01.02.24) per day depending on whether they have been desexed. Our rates are fully inclusive of food, exercise and in most cases a bath before leaving.

All boarding fees are calculated on a calendar day basis regardless of time of admission or departure.

Please note that there are some breeds, that even though they are small in size, require more exercise and space to run or security therefore may need to be housed in our large dog complex and therefore would be charged accordingly.

Diets and Medications

During the process of you making a booking we will ask you what your dog usually eats at home and endeavour to keep each pets diet as similar to this as possible. We have a wide selection of dry foods as well as fresh meat and tinned varieties. Should your dog be on a special diet or one of the veterinary lines you are welcome to provide this.

If your dog is on medication of any kind (including injections) we are able to administer this, however there will be a drug administration fee. Just be sure to tell us when making a booking and bring the medication in clearly labelled bottles.
